PRESIDENT SBY VISIT ARMY STAND

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had the opportunity to review the Disaster Risk Reduction Technology Exhibition Stand Army after opening the 5 th Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR), Tuesday (23/10/2012). President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono opened the meeting and exhibition, which runs until Thursday (25/10/2012) at the Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta.

Units representing the Army exhibit is from the Department of the Army Information (Dispenad), Directorate of Army Engineers (Ditziad) and the Directorate of Army Transport Briefing (Ditbekangad).

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during an inspection at the exhibition stand of the Army briefed Colonel Arh Erwin Septiansyah, S. Ip of the material on display as well as the Army duties in helping communities cope with disasters. Exhibition Stand Army Dispenad filled with material such as photo documentation, brochures and documentary play in helping natural disaster. While from Ditziad and Ditbekangad each featuring a water purification devices, detection devices, and victims of natural rubber boats (LCR).

In opening, the President said that the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) should be an important agenda in disaster management. He said the DRR must be done with the support of law enforcement, regional and international cooperation, as well as the involvement of local communities.

President outlines at least six things necessary to support DRR measures as well as a reflection of post-tsunami Aceh, Indonesia in 2004. (Dispenad).
